Brian's finely-tuned ears come from an intense classical and jazz background. He turned the knobs at the Aspen Music Festival, recording icons such as Renee Fleming, Lang Lang, Emerson String Quartet, Gil Shaham, and many more.


Brian also worked backstage for artists Ravi Shankar, Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Keith Jarrett, Itzhak Pearlman, Brad Mehldau Trio, John Scofield, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones and many others during his 4 years at the Chicago Symphony Center.


In addition to studying electronics, acoustics, and physics, Brian completed a bachelors degree in Sound Recording Technology under the tutelage of longtime jingle engineer Tom Miller. In September '06 Brian became staff engineer at SPANK! and finds the fast-paced environment to be the perfect canvas to hone his audio skills.


A talented saxophone player, Brian been in front of and behind the glass of many recording sessions. He has performed as a featured soloist for top wind and jazz ensembles including DePaul University’s Jazz Orchestra. His latest group effort, Colorlist, an experimental electronic outfit, released their debut album “Lists”, on the Belgian label Off! Records in 2008. On the weekends Brian does sessions with local indie rock and jazz groups.
